I was able to get the status/sub statuses created and they now appear on the template correctly.  However, on the template the entries for "In Process" status and the sub statuses are grayed out and I cannot create the Status Flow: Options for them.  Attached is word document with a screenshot to show you what I am trying to explain.

Thanks for your post! I'll forward this to some of HR experts to see if they can help.  While we won't be able to view the Word file, if you use the "insert photo" button below, you could include a JPG image of the screenshot. Let's take a look!

I hope to get an answer to you soon!

This response is from SAPexperts & SAP PRESS author Venki Krishnamoorthy, via editor MS Hein :

"My response: This is because the “In Process” and the related sub-statuses might not have been selected at the category group and category level."

He suggest that you:
"select InProcess (and the related sub-statuses) at the category, category group level and it will appear in the template level, too."

Hope you find this helpful!

I just got some additional information from Venki on this topic. He said:

If you are still having the same issue and my earlier answer did not help, then
this might help clarify:

You will also come across this situation if the column Final Appraisal (FAPP) is not
selected at the template level. (My early response is also correct).

I hope this helps!
